Brendan Benson about v-JAYS

Filed under Words about... by Daniel Andersson.

Brendan Benson is using our v-JAYS. And by judging from his comments he seems to like them a lot!

Wow! These sound fantastic! Hard to believe when you hold them in your hands. Once I put them on I noticed how comfortable they were and then when I heard them, WOW!  I couldn't believe how great they sounded. Thank you!

Benson, also known for playing guitars and singing in the Raconteurs along with Jack White, Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler, released his first album under his own name already in 1996 and the latest as recent as last year. Here's some links to his My old, familiar friend album and the Raconteurs' albums.

If you ever wondered what music playing in his headphones - you got the answer right here.

First Aid Kit about v-JAYS

Filed under Words about... by Peter Cedmer.

Just having their debut album The Big Black & The Blue released we thought Swedish band First Aid Kit would like some new great headphones from JAYS to be used on their UK tour. So we sent them the beloved v-JAYS and got this wonderful feedback.

"Very comfortable to wear and very portable on the go. The sound is very big and detailed coming from such small headphones! The treble is fantastic!

We also got a playlist containing some of their favourite songs to be played on Spotify.

We wish them all the best and be sure to check their Myspace out!

Moneybrother about v-JAYS

Filed under Words about... by Daniel Andersson.

Anders "Moneybrother" Wendin brought his v-JAYS headphones with him to Africa and yesterday we got the verdict:

"Lurarna har en skön design som inte bara gör att de ser coola ut. De sitter skönt och stänger ute oönskat ljud tex på flygresa. Dessutom läcker de inte så mycket ljud så du kan lyssna högt på vad som helst."

Translation: "The phones have a nice design and does not only look cool - They fit comfortably too." Anders says, who probably kept the whole airplane awake for 20hrs Africa and back playing his v-JAYS.

For those of you who weren't aboard - Here's his headphone playlist:

Forever - Explorers Club
Anglo Girl Desire - Radio Birdman
Rock 'N' Roll Is King - Electric Light Orchestra
Smokescreen - Desperate Bicycles
1984 - The Wings
Then You Can tell me Goodbye - Casino
On And On - Dave Mason & Cass Elliot
(Det är då) Jag känner att jag behöver dig - Lena Ericsson
Dream Sweet Dreams About Me - Glen Campbell
Gloria Walker - My Precious Love
I-94 - Radio Birdman
Pokerkväll i Vårbygård - Florence Valentin
Our Life Is Not A Movie Or Maybe - Okkervil River
Make it Fast, Make it Slow - Rob Ghana Soundz
Fit But You Know It - The Streets
La Grange - ZZ Top

And thanks! It's a really good playlist.

Earlier this year he released his fifth album Real Control as Moneybrother. A great soul / rock album! 10 new songs with the same brilliantly hoarse voice. Listen to it and his earlier records at Spotify here.

If you're in Germany/Austria - Go see him at his December tour! Should be really good too!

...and while you're at it, don't forget to pick up some cans of his ecological Moneybrother tomato soup in the merch.

Fibes, Oh Fibes are back. Back in a smaller number but better than ever before! Last month they released their third studio album 1987. And it's really good!

Here's Fibes's own words about the new album...

"The whole album is a tribute to the ultimate year of pop music, 1987. Itʼs about coming to terms with our musical past but also about finding the way back to the feeling you possesed as a kid, when you heard that particular song for the first time and it really changed your life. A period in life when everything you discovered actually surfaced for the very first time, being all naive and convinced that you would last forever. We simply wanted to make the best album youʼve heard since you were a kid."

After having listened to our v-JAYS headphones they sent us these sweet comments...

"Seriously, the v-JAYS are somewhat of the nicest we've tested in the smaller headphones-category. Bass, mids, highs and luxury in a sweet mix. We're sitting in the studio reveling... Insanely well done!"

Fibes also posted us their Top-10-headphone playlist:

1. Marc Cohn - Walking in Memphis
2. Fibes, Oh Fibes - Love will always find a way
3. Miike Snow - Silvia
4. Vanessa Carlton - A thousand miles
5. Cock Robin - Just around the corner
6. Fleetwood Mac - Dreams
7. Deportees - When they come
8. Rick Springfield - Love somebody
9. Def Leppard - Animal
10. Johnny hates Jazz - Shattered dreams

Listen to it on Spotify here.

And now on Friday 23rd they're playing in Sthlm and on Saturday 24th here in Västerås. We'll see you there!

Deportees about v-JAYS

Filed under Words about... by Daniel Andersson.

Ever since the new Deportees album "Under the Pavement - the Beach" was released it has been spinning quite alot here at the JAYS R&D office. Seems like isolating themselves in an old Kung Fu dojo for a year up in Umeå (northern part of Sweden) paid off cause it's definately one of the best albums of the year in our opinion.

They've been listening in on our v-JAYS headphones too and they seemed to appreciate them.

"Very stylish and good looking, and they sound really good too. Very powerful bass... We like!"

And here's their top ten v-JAYS headphones playlist!

1. Graham Nash - Simple Man
2. Talking Heads - Once in a lifetime (från stop making sense live skivan)
3. Steve Reich - Section I (från music for 18 musicians)
4. Bon Iver - Woods (från Blood Bank EP:n)
5. Willie Nelson/Calexico - Señor
6. Kate Bush - Running up those hills
7. The Roches - Hammond Song
8. Discovery - So Insane
9. Dirty Projectors - No Intention
10. Beach Boys - God only knows

You can listen directly at Spotify here. This is yet another great playlist and the Bon Iver track Woods is an office favourite as well. Wonderful!

And tomorrow, instead of going to that last crayfish party of the year or owl in front of the TV at home - You should go to Uppsala where Deportees will be playing live. Should be great!

Have a great weekend everybody!
