This week’s Swedish lesson comes from Fredrik Thordendal, guitar player in the genius Swedish metal band Meshuggah.

We sent him a pair of our v-JAYS headphones which he spoke of as:

(Sv) "Fan vilka underbara ljudfordon!" - (En) "Damn such wonderful sound vehicles!"

“…comfortable and amazingly good sound. I didn’t even think it was possible to get bass as good as this in such small open cans actually... Thanks!!!”

Thank You Fredrik, and what can I say - we just love being in the sound vehicle business!

Fredrik’s been a member of Meshuggah since it was formed in Umeå 1987 and has been playing the guts out of his 7- and 8-strings guitars ever since. Meshuggah is constantly evolving and pushing the envelope for each new album release with their innovative and extremely technical music. They’re one of Sweden’s most prominent metal bands and has been on US tours with both Tool and Slayer. So if you haven’t listened to these five metal workers before – It’s about time!

We also got a playlist from Fredrik to share with you guys. Too bad all tracks weren’t available on Spotify but you can listen to about half of them there anyway. The full list is shown below:

Devin Townsend - Ki - Terminal
Allan Holdsworth - Sand - 4:15 Bradford Executive
Gojira - From Mars To Sirius - Ocean Planet
Decapitated - Organic Hallucinosis - Flash - B(L)Ack
The Cardigans - Long Gone Before Daylight - Communication
Scarve - Irradiant - Mirthless Perspectives
Squarepusher - Go Plastic - Go! Plastic
Strapping Young Lad - City - Oh My Fucking God
Aphex Twin - Drukqs - Vordhosbn
Autechre - Chiastic Slide - Cipater
Battles - Mirrored - Atlas
Trans Am - Futureworld - Futureworld
Coldplay - X & Y - Speed Of Sound
Cornelius - Sensuous - Sensuous
Ektomorf - Destroy - I Know Them

It's a great list! And quoting himself, Devin Townsend’s Terminal is just “awesome”.

Oh, and don’t forget to check out the Meshuggah website!

King Diamond's Andy LaRocque about v-JAYS

Filed under Words about... by Daniel Andersson.

Andy LaRocque, guitarist in King Diamond since the band was formed, seems to find our v-JAYS quite loud..

Besides playing guitars in King Diamond (as well as having played with At the Gates and In Flames) he has produced over a hundred albums at his own recording studio Sonic Train Studios which he started a couple of years back in Varberg, Sweden.

"I really like the v-JAYS" he says, "They have a good overall sound. They're very open and they're handling the low frequencies very well. They're price worthy phones." (or prisvärda lurar as we say in Sweden).

Swedish artist/songwriter Kleerup got a pair of our v-JAYS headphones a while ago and just recently sent us this picture along with a thank you!

-Tack för rågrymma lurar! he greets which for all you non-swedish speaking people translates to "Thanks for raw cruel cans!" ...I suppose (Swedish 1.0).

For those of you who haven't had the opportunity to see him on this summer's festivals you can always have a listen to his album HERE. And it sounds really good with our v-JAYS too I must add!

Be sure to check out his website and myspace too:
