a-JAYS^® Four

Invisible technology

Our remote uses the latest available microphone technology out there. It's a digital, active surface-mounted MEMS silicon microphone that removes GSM/TDMA burst noise and provides wide-band RF noise suppression. This means it has the best performance on the market and we also have it in our newly developed remote control, of course. The MEMS microphone also works in 360 degrees meaning it will effectively pick up your speech in any position.

Compatibility

The remote and mic of the a-JAYS Four are supported by iPod nano (4th generation and later), iPod classic 120 GB, 160 GB (2009), iPod touch (2nd generation and later), iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4 and iPad Mini. The remote is supported by iPod shuffle (3rd generation and later). Audio is supported by all iPod models. Compatibility requires the latest iPod software. a-JAYS are also compatible with Macbook, Macbook Pro and Mac Pro (2009 and later). The remote and mic are also compatible with most applications such as VOIP, Skype, iChat and other recording applications such as voice memo.

Button features

Play or pause a song or video

Press the center button once to play or pause a song or video.
Press it again to resume playback.

Skip to the next song or chapter

Press the center button twice quickly to skip to
the next song or chapter.

Fast-forward

Press the center button twice quickly and hold it
down to fast-forward.

Go to the previous song or chapter

Press the center button three times quickly to
go to the previous song or chapter.

Rewind

Press the center button three times quickly
and hold it to rewind.

Answer or end a call

Press the center button once to answer a call.
Press it again to end the call.

Decline an incoming call

Hold down the center button for about two seconds, then let it go.
When you let it go, two low beeps will confirm that you have
declined the call.

Switch to an incoming or on-hold call and put the current call on hold

Press the center button once to put a call on hold and switch to an
incoming call. Press it again to switch back to the first call.

Switch to an incoming or on-hold call and end the current call

Hold down the center button for about two seconds, then let it go to
end the current call and switch to an incoming or on-hold call.
When you let it go, two low beeps confirm that you ended the first call.

Increase volume

Press the top button to increase the volume.

Decrease volume

Press the bottom button to decrease the volume.

Voice control commands

Starting voice control

Hold down the phone’s home button or the middle button on your headset until the voice control feature comes up on screen and you hear a beep. This should take about 2 seconds.

Phone commands (iPhone only)

Call a contact

Say "Call" or "Dial" plus the person’s name or nickname as entered into your address book. You also have the option to add the phone number type at the end, such as "home," "work" or "cell phone." Example: "Dial Harry Winters work" or "Call Mom."

Call a number

Say "Call" or "Dial" plus the number, just as you would recite it usually. Example: "Dial 08 12 20 19 00.″

Make a correction

Say "Not that one," "Wrong," "Nope," "No" or "Not that."

Music Commands (iPhone and iPod Touch)

Start music

To start playback, say "Play" or "Play music."

Play from a specific playlist

To play from a specific playlist, say "Play playlist" and the name of the playlist. Example: "Play playlist December."

Play from a specific album

To play songs from a specific album, say "Play album" plus the name of the album. Example: "Play album Dark Side of the Moon."

Play from a specific artist

To play songs from a specific artist, say "Play artist" plus the name of the artist. Example: "Play artist Pink Floyd." You can also say "play songs by" plus the name of the artist.

Pause music

To pause playback, say "Pause" or "Pause music."

Skip to next song

To skip to the next song, say "Next song."

Go back to previous song

To go back to the previous song, say "Previous song."

Shuffle the current playlist

To shuffle the current playlist, just say "Shuffle."

Turn on Genius feature

To turn on the Genius feature, say "Genius," "play more like this" or "play more songs like this."

Get information about the current track

To get information on the current track ask "What’s playing?" For more specific information, ask "What song is this?", "Who sings this song?" or "Who is this song by?"

Misc Commands (iPhone and iPod Touch)

Ask the time

To find out the time, ask "What is the time?" or "What time is it?"

Cancel voice control

To cancel voice control, simply say "Cancel." With iOS 4 you can also say "Stop."

To get help, say "Help."
